The TOEFL® Test is the most widely respected English-language test in the world, recognized by more than 7,500 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries. Wherever you want to study, the TOEFL test can help you get there. The TOEFL iBT test measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. And it evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks. www.toefl.org

The GRE® revised General Test measures the verbal and quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills you’ll need for success in graduate and business school. It’s been changed to make it a friendlier, more flexible test, and to more closely reflect the kind of thinking you’ll do in graduate or business school. http://www.ets.org/gre

The SAT is a globally recognized college admission test that lets you show colleges what you know and how well you can apply that knowledge. It tests your knowledge of reading, writing and math — subjects that are taught every day in high school classrooms. Most students take the SAT during their junior or senior year of high school, and almost all colleges and universities use the SAT to make admission decisions. http://sat.collegeboard.com/

The SAT doesn’t test logic or abstract reasoning. It tests the skills you’re learning in school: reading, writing and math. Your knowledge and skills in these subjects are important for success in college and throughout your life.

  • The critical reading section includes reading passages and sentence completions.
  • The writing section includes a short essay and multiple-choice questions on identifying errors and improving grammar and usage.
  • The mathematics section includes questions on arithmetic operations, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability.

The Graduate Management Admission Test®. The GMAT® exam is the assessment for graduate business school candidates—it was designed by business schools to measure the skills shown to help graduate business students succeed in the challenging curriculum. A computer-adaptive exam that assesses Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing skills developed over time, the GMAT exam is a valid and reliable predictor of success in graduate business school. www.gmac.com
