If you are planning to travel to South America, come to Uruguay! We’re just a 30-minute flight away from Argentina and a couple of hours away from Chile, Brazil and Paraguay.
Dear School Representative:
Welcome to EducationUSA!
The EducationUSA Advising Center is located within the Fulbright offices located in Colonia St. # 810 Apt. 703, across the street from Plaza Independencia (just steps away from the Presidency of the Republic). Our office hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., although our Exam Preparation Center remains open until 9:00 p.m. during weekdays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We hold three informative sessions per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) with the objective to guide Uruguayan students through the application process to U.S. universities; we also reach out to students by visiting local schools and universities regularly and by participating in University or Education Fairs. We offer information to walk-in visitors to our Center, or through email, phone and skype, and our library is available to visitors any time of day within the office hours. To know more about us, please visit our website at www.educationusa.org.uy
The ethical standards to which all EducationUSA centers adhere to as a condition for their voluntary association with ECA include offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about the full range of higher education opportunities in the United States. We also offer U.S. School Reps information about grading scales and other educational-related data.
Whenever you’re in the region, we’d be happy to host an information session for you. The city of Montevideo is a friendly, safe and easy city to visit; we’re only a 20-minute flight away from Buenos Aires, so you can plan a 1-day visit to Uruguay if you happen to be in Argentina.
Our Center advises students on the admission process to U.S. schools, including international exams, student visas, scholarships and other sources of funding. In our Exam Preparation Center students can prepare for the GMAT, the GRE, the SAT, the TOEFL and the IELTS. In addition, we offer official translations of all school documents.
University Representatives can learn more about working with any one of the 450 Advising Centers distributed worldwide by visiting the official EducationUSA site at www.educationusa.state.gov, which includes a section exclusively for accredited U.S. colleges and universities. To access this information, locate the “For U.S. Higher Education” screen.
I look forward to meeting you very soon in Montevideo! In the meantime, please let me know if you need more information.
All the best,
Fanny del Rio
Program Officer & Educational Adviser
